Hoya wayetii Variegated has narrow, gently folded leaves with creamy centers and green margins. New growth can show a soft pink blush, adding color among the older leaves. Its trailing stems are well suited to a hanging pot or a bright shelf where they have room to grow.
With maturity and suitable conditions, this Hoya may produce clusters of fragrant, burgundy-toned flowers. Flowers are a bonus rather than a promise, and the foliage offers plenty to enjoy while you wait.
Care tips
- Light: Bright, filtered light. Introduce gentle morning sun gradually and protect the leaves from intense afternoon sun.
- Water: Let much of the mix dry and the pot become noticeably lighter before watering thoroughly. Empty collected water so the roots are not left soaking.
- Potting mix: A loose, fast-draining mix with bark and perlite works well. Use a pot with drainage holes.
- Warmth and humidity: Keep warm and away from cold drafts. Moderate to high humidity is helpful, along with good airflow.
- Feeding: Feed lightly during active growth, following the fertilizer label. Water less often when growth slows and the mix stays moist longer.
- Flowering: Leave old flower spurs in place after blooming; Hoyas can flower from them again.
Plant note: The plant you receive will be the selected size and may differ naturally from the photos in fullness, leaf color, and maturity. Pink coloring varies and is not guaranteed. Keep houseplants out of reach of pets that like to chew.
